Chetan bhagath's novels.



 Well Iam now going to tell about the well known writter Chetan Bhagat author of best selling novels- Five point someone (2004), One Night @ the Call Center(2005),The three Mistakes of My Life (2008), 2-States: The Story of My Marriage.(2009), Revolution 2020 (2011), What Young India Wants, and the latest Half Girlfriend (2014).

1) Five Point Someone (2004)-The book is narrated by  first person by Hari, with some small passages by his friends Ryan and Alok, as well as a letter by Hari's girlfriend Neha Cherian. It deals with the lives of the three friends, whose elation on making it to one of the best engineering college in India is quickly deflated by the rigor and monotony of the academic work. Most of the book deals with the numerous attempts by the trio to cope with and/or beat the system as well as Hari's fling with Neha who just happens to be the daughter of Prof. Cherian, the domineering head of the Mechanical Engineering Department of their college.



2)One Night @ the Call Centre (2005)- During the journey from Kanpur to Delhi, the narrator meets a beautiful girl. The girl offers to tell the author a story on the condition that he has to make it his second book. After a lot of hesitation, the author agrees. The story was about six people working in a call center. One night they got a phone-call from god within the story, which comprises the bulk of the book, relates the events that happen one night at a call center. Told through the eyes of the protagonist, Shyam, it is a story of almost lost love, thwarted ambitions, absence of family affection, pressures of a patriarchal set up, an insight on the lifestyle of youth of this country and the work environment of a globalized office. Shyam loves but has lost Priyanka, who is now planning an arrange marriage with another; Vroom loves Esha. Esha wants to be a model, Radhika is in an unhappy marriage with a demanding mother-in-law, and military uncle wants to talk to his grandson; they all hate Bakshi, their cruel and somehow sadist boss. Claimed to be based on a true story, the author chooses Shyam Mehra (alias Sam Marcy) as the narrator and protagonist, who is one among the six call center employees featured.

3)The Three Mistakes of My Life- The third novel  written by Chetan bhagat. The book was published in May 2008 and had an initial print-run of 420,000. The novel follows the story of three friends and is based in the city of Ahmedabad in western India. The film also has been done on this named "Kai po che", Sushant singh Rajput, Rajkumar Rao and Amit Sadh star as the three main protagonists while Amritha puri plays the female lead."Kai Po Che" is "Brothers for Life" is the 2013 Indian drama buddy directed by Abhishek Kapoor.The three friends Ishaan (Sushant singh Rajput), Omi (Amit sadh), Govind (Rajkumar Rao) from Ahmedabad wants to set the sports shop and start the sports academy.The film tracks their deep friendship, and innocence tarnished by religious politics and communal hatred, which results in their fallout, and an eventual death. Kai Po Che! had a world premiere at the 63rd Berlin International film festival on 13 February 2013 where it was the first ever Indian film to feature in the World Panorama section Kai Po Che! released world wide on 22 February 2013 and met with critical acclaim among Indian reviewers, but negative reviews internationally.



4)Revolution 2020 (2011)-Once upon a time, in a small town in India, there lived two Intelligent boys. One wanted to use his intelligence to make money another to start a revolution, but there was a problem they both fall in love with the same girl. 
Welcome to Revolution 2020-A story about the childhood friends Raghav, Gopal and Aarti who struggle to find success, love and happiness in Varnasi. However, it is not easy to attain these in an unfair society that rewards the corrupt. As Gopal gives in to the system, and Raghav fights. Read the book to know who win.


5)What Young India Wants (2012)-. It is a compilation of his speeches and essays. It has various topics ranging from Indian society, Indian politics and young Indians. The book received negative reviews from critics. The book revolves around Bhagat's thoughts and innovations on how to improve the Indian economy through social reforms. The book criticizes the dis-function of the Indian government as well as moralities regarding the current condition of India. Bhagat writes about how India can be a progressive society in the future. He talks about the rampant corruption in India and how society should change to rid it. The theme is central to his dream of a free and forward thinking India. And this book will specify what young India needs. Must read book for young Indians.


4) 2 states: The story of my Marriage (2009)- The story about the couple named Krish and Ananya who were of two different states, Krish was of Punjab and Ananya was of Tamil Nadu who like to marry each other but, both of theirs parents were not agreeing this marriage because of the culture and traditions varied that of punjabis and Tamilians. This a story on how these both got married and how they succed and married each other.A film has been made on this novel seen Arjun Kapoor as Krish and Alia bhatt as Ananya directed by Abhishek varman based on the novel of Chetan bhagat.


5)Half girlfriend- It is the story of the boy called Madhav Jha who fell in love with a beautiful girl Riya Somani a rich businessmens daughter. Madhav was from Bihar son of Rani Saiba. They were a good basketball players. Madhav has got admission in the college with sports quota, where Riya was also a student. Madhav had a weakness that he cannot speak english  fluently. There were  several twist and turns which Madhav jha had to face to get Riya somani.
